Arrowhead Grow Kit
The Arrowhead Grow Kit
Taken from a half-charred tree in the mountains of Lake Arrowhead, the image for this kit provides the perfect natural setting for our oyster mushrooms. For those that are looking for a natural woodsy feel, with a little bit of color, this is the right design for you.
Can be safely stored for 2-3 weeks, so you can activate them at a time that works best for you. Please refer to the "Use by" date on your kit. Store in a cool dark place.
Each grow kit weighs about 5 lbs.
Please make sure to read the care instructions in our FAQ section. There's a lot of helpful information on there, which will help guarantee a successful grow.
We 100% guarantee your first flush of mushrooms, and with enough patience and care, you should be able to get multiple flushes. However, your first flush will be the largest.
When you're done with your grow kit you can start your own mushroom patch by removing the substrate from the box and burying it in your yard with a layer of cardboard and some wood chips. Pick a shady spot under a tree and give it plenty of water.
Oyster Mushroom Varieties
The different varieties have some unique characteristics so choose based on your needs or buy one of each and see which one you like best.
The Blue Oyster
The blue oyster is the most robust and has the largest fruits. It's a very forgiving strain, making it great for beginners as well as experienced growers! The fruits start out brilliantly blue and turn gray as they mature. They grow best in cooler temperatures and can handle drier environments. If you're looking for a full-proof grow with large fruits then this is the way to go.
The Pink Oyster
Pink oysters are strikingly beautiful and produce flower-like bouquets of overlapping fruits. They are stunningly pink when they're young, but start to whiten with age. Out of the three strains, these will most likely give you the three flushes if the conditions are right. However, they prefer warmer temperatures and slightly higher humidity. A great choice for the summer months!
The Golden (Yellow) Oyster
Golden or yellow oysters will produce a higher number of fruits that are smaller than the other strains. They fruit sporadically from wherever they choose, and rarely fruit from all 4 holes at the same time. They are the most finicky of the three and require more patience. The mushrooms themselves are more delicate and have a shorter shelf-life so it's best to eat them 1-2 days after you harvest. Similar to pink oysters, yellows thrive in warmer temperatures and higher humidity.
Materials: cardboard, pasteurized straw.
This was my first time growing mushrooms and this kit made it so easy! I really enjoyed watching them grow and the mushrooms were huge!
I came to by some extracts and ended up getting this grow kit too :) Such a beautiful design! My whole family loved watching the mushrooms grow.
I purchased those as a gift to my friend, he loves growing everything indoors and failed several times to grow oyster mushrooms at home, so this was the best gift ever. He enjoyed looking at it and then he had a dinner with his family. He said that it were the most delicious mushrooms in ever I’ll get them myself for sure now!
The kit is eash to use and the directions are great! I would have given the 5th star if I had more growth. I received this on Mother’s Day and so far only 2 harvests. The two that I got were fun to watch and neat to have, good to eat, just wish we had more.
